One trend I've been seeing on blogs and in shelter magazines is the new love affair with navy in interiors. From cobalt to indigo, near black to true navy, dark blue is showing up in upholstery, on walls, in accessories and lighting. Why navy now? See the first picture for my theory. Enjoy!

Perhaps the current navy trend can be traced back to the new Duchess of Cambridge. Her chic, feminine style embraces classic colors like navy in a modern way.

Love the high gloss enamel finish of the navy walls that reflects light. Navy blue matte velvet offers a nice contrast to the wall. Gorgeous.

Navy, white and gold are a classic color combination with a nautical inspiration; think of Navy dress uniforms with shiny brass buttons. Love the navy sofa with a white lattice pattern against the modern painting and rug.
