Transformation in a Can

A can of Spray paint (or a few cans in my case) can do wonders when it comes to transforming something.  I'm not afraid to admit that I am just mildly obsessed with this stuff.  Once I start spray painting things, I can't stop.  I literally think "what can I change next?".  It's a problem.  My husband only {kinda} jokes about it.  He thinks I am a little nuts...but in a good way (I hope).

Anyhoo, on Saturday I got busy painting away while Mr. Delicious was napping and the Hubs and Capt. Crazy were swimming.  The problem?  The bench in our loft/landing area upstairs.  The bench was free from an office closing, but it was way too traditional for my taste.  I knew it had major potential though.  Solution? Spray paint...DUH!

Before (Obviously)!
Behold the beauty that now greets me atop of the stairs.  Viola!
After (isn't she pretty)?!

The landing/loft area.  She made a great addition to the space.
* Bench (free).
* $20 in spray paint.
* I covered the cushion with an extra window panel I already had (free).
* I made the toss pillows simply by using a white Dupioni silk pillow cover, and an self- adhesive fabric Quatrefoil. I bought the materials from Joann's for $20 (with coupons). I already had the pillow inserts (free).
* Total cost to transform bench: $40 (not bad)!

While I was a little "spray happy" I decided to paint a little end table I had in storage.  It now resides in my laundry/mud room and it is the perfect little table to put my sunglasses and keys when coming through the door.
Before (not doing it for me).
It was way too shabby chic for my taste, so I had to brighten it up. Viola!
After!  Much more fun. We keep our flip flops in the storage bin (to the right) so we can easily store/grab our shoes before heading outside to play.

The rest of the Laundry/mudroom.

Another view.  Lots more I want to do.  Chandelier light fixture, paint, wallpaper.....the list never ends.

* $5 in spray paint.
* Already had the table (free).
* Total cost for mudroom catchall table: $5 (love it)!

P.S.  Is anyone else in love with spray paint as much as me?
P.P.S.  Make it a great Tuesday! XoX

Hi Katie! Yes, I did two coats of primer (white primer) on the bench, and one coat of primer on the table.

Put me down as another spray paint lover too! I love that you use color - it looks great! Especially the yellow bench. I have got to start being more adventurous. I always use white.

spray paint is a miracle worker! when we moved in to our first house we had a on brown stove and refrigerator - we sprayed them black with appliance paint and they were like brand new!

Wow! This turned out fantastic. I love what you did with the color. That wall in the loft with all the frames looks so pretty. The most incredible part about your laundry room (to me) is that you have zero laundry piles. Mine always has a load somewhere...It all looks great. Hubby should be thrilled with how nicely you are making things look around the home with spray paint. The stuff is magical.
